Default Rumor potentially costing Texas A&M $75 million

This is a wow.

Not a bad “buyout for a coach”

Texas A&M is expected to inform head coach Jimbo Fisher of his dismissal Sunday morning after nearly six seasons in charge, sources tell Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports.

The Aggies will owe the 58-year-old a buyout worth more than $75 million as he has eight years remaining on his contract, adds Dellenger.

The buyout to fire Fisher is the largest single buyout paid to a football coach and will nearly eclipse the entire amount spent to buy out coaches last year, which came in around $90 million.

I’ve said it once and will say it again

The best job on the planet is a fired division 1 power 5 football coach

Insane that Jimbo will get paid to do nothing.

As much as I love sports, I always struggle with dumping hundred’s of millions of dollars into a firing.

I guess it’s an investment into the future, but it’s still a hard concept for me to fully grasp

Especially in this day and age, I would think you would be better off spending the money on NIL and getting a few top quality linemen. Coaches look a lot smarter when they have better players.

Yes he had and now Prime Time is in the rumor mill to replace him. Not that he will but there are rumors
