Default Free cards - for charity

Posted By: Jon Hardgrove

I normally make this post around Christmas time, but really need the room.

Years ago, we bought the complete remaining inventory of the A & S card company of Indianapolis, that produced annual sets honoring the drivers of the Indianapolis 500. These sets were over-produced in 1983, 1984, and 1985. The company seemed to become wiser later, as the 1986 and 1987 sets are much less common. Each year boxed set contains 33 cards for the drivers, plus 15-18 (each year set number was different) of other cards which might honor families (ie the Andrettis) or various cars or other issues relating to the Indy 500.

We sorted these sets by year, and boxed them in empty oil boxes. Each oil box holds 100 plus boxed sets, and we still have maybe 25~30 oil boxes (enough to fill a minivan) of the 1983, 1984, and 1985 year sets.

We have been donating these to local church, fire, and hospital groups around Christmas for distribution to needy children; but have totally saturated central Missouri. We have also donated about 50 boxes of these to those of you on this forum who then have donated them to facilities in your area. Newcomers to the forum can search the forum threads and verify this statement.

We need to get rid of the rest of them NOW!

All any of you need to do to acquire these from us is to agree to donate them to a charity of your choosing in your area (keep a set or two for yourself) in your name, and agree to pay the exact UPS shipping charge from us to you. We don't want any money for the cards, only for the shipping. Boxes will weigh from 20~30 pounds. Please email or call 573-392-7378 (9-4 central during office days).

Or anyone who can move them all may come get them. I live in Eldon, which is located 30 miles SW of Jefferson City Missouri on US 54. You will need at least a minivan, or a mini-pickup with a camper shell.

I really need the room, and don't wish to throw these in the trash.

Jon.
