If it's the pack I am thinking of, it's worth buying for the graphics. I know there are 'generic' packs that just say "Home Run" on them too. If it's the one with graphics, it's a nice novelty item to pick up, but not very valuable.

The cellophane wrapped packs are from the 50's if I remember right. I see them on ebay all the time.

To add to what both Jay and Richard have said... the originals were made in 1910'ish. To date, I have never seen an original or heard of one - not quite sure exactly what they looked like. n the 1950's, the original graphics were purchased and a bunch of different packs were re-issued. (FYI, the Red Sun cigarette pack pictured in my guide was part of this re-issue. Although graphics were the same, I have never seen an original of that either). These re-issues were carried into the 1970's from what I'm told. As for value, I've seen them sell for $5.00 and I've seen other's fpr $75.00. To be more accurate, I would say $15.00 - $20.00, depending on condition.

I should also mention that the pack I'm referring to is green, shows a great pictures of a batter and catcher on the front...

thanks for the info guys... i took a chance and picked it up for $12. figured worse comes to worst i could smoke 'em! theyre in perfect shape and have, as was mentioned, beautiful graphics of a pitcher and catcher on the front

Just an FYI , Homerun cigarettes were actually introduced in the EARLY 1890's. The packs you may see on ebay or at show's are post 1930's/
I own two (2) old paper advertising signs that were issued in the 1890's for Homerun cigarettes.

CAREFUL, they faked the signs as well. I don't remember seeing an original but I just woke up. Three posts in my first time out, not bad.

Josh , I know tobacco signs. They aren't fakes. Now what you didn't ask was is there a picture of a pack or baseball player on the signs. Well the answer is no. Just an ugly actress/women.
