thanks again for doing this. As for the cutoff - that would all be on you. Think there was plenty of time to effectuate the deal but hey I'm happy however it goes. While an SGC or ungraded guy I'm an OCD guy too - locked into my Tip Top Space set in PSA - no other real way for me to get it done.

The cutoff has come and gone...I just don't want to pull the ship off the dock if some people had a long layover. You get my drift?

Have cards been shipped off to PSA yet? I’m already in, was curious as nothing has been mentioned?

Becuase I am waiting on stragglers.....nothing has changed....it is like this EVERY TIME....especially even more so when the order is huge. This one is over 500 cards (biggest one yet).

Hi Bobby,

Can we get an update on this submission? The cut-off date was more than 3 weeks ago.

Thanks,
Jeff

Send him a PM; maybe he's on vacation. Hasn't logged into Net54 since Oct 4.

After no response I did send Bobby an email. He replied that he's on vacation with limited access. Will look for an update upon his return.

Now I need a vacation from my vacation. Went to Disney during the "off-season". Still a zoo. The cards are in PSA's possesion. NOT logged in yet.

Am I the only one who cracks up every time I see one of these "glutton for punishment" thread titles?

I just get this image of Will Ferrell getting spanked in some kind of weird dominatrix scene LOL.

Sounds about right. It was pretty eclectic (as usual), so I'll take the OVER for $5.

You picked the wrong time to go. I was there last week as well. Very crowded, but not surprising. Arizona schools get a two week Fall Break in early October (and have a shortened summer due to the blazing heat and not much to do).
My 1st grader was off from school, so I got to enjoy the busiest, I mean the most expensive...I mean, the happiest place on earth. The past two weeks were literally the worst time to try to go to Disney but it was still worth it!

Anyway, welcome back. I'd like to get in on the next bulk sub you do.

Sure thing!! You are welcome anytime!! I'm constantly buying raw....and we have one Canadian submitter whose cards came in the day I mailed the package out....so there is already cards for the next sub,

As far as Disney, I thought Monday-Thursday wasn't too bad. Friday at Universal was a nightmare, and Saturday at Disney was pretty bad.

I actually forgot about this one. Maybe I will be surprised with a decent grade or two as well. Thanks again for putting this together.

Default Psa

PSA announced yesterday that their backlog is over one million cards. They are receiving an average of 68,000 cards per week and the backlog is growing.

In Dennis Purdy's article in VCBC , from 1996, he complained about PSA taking 43 days to process a 10-15 day submission.

This is going to get much worse before it gets better.

Wow, that volume is just insane. It makes me wonder about how much time is spent grading each card. If memory serves, in the beginning PSA touted that each card would be graded blind by three different people and then the final grade determined. I question if that is still the case for each card.

My guess is it’s determined by declared value. I highly doubt they’re putting $20 cards in front of 3 sets of eyeballs, if they ever did at all.

Either our guys got is right or PSA guys fixed our guys mistakes. I'm voting that our guys got it right. One was an OBVIOUS PSA error, as they called a Sports Car a 400 when it clearly says 404. The other error involves calling the card the right type due to the back (A coupon card - similar to a T206).

What does "in the grading phase mean" from a time persepctive? first time PSA submission for me... so just want to know if I should expect to see grades pop soon or we still have a long time to go.
