Default How to polish Brass??

I picked up an older Louisville Slugger brass sign (would have put it in the Feb pick ups, but can't get the photo to upload). The sign is heavy, with thick letters, and having issues with the white residue showing up in all the corners. Any polishing tips?? Thanks.

show a picture sometimes you'd rather leave the patina then take it off with brass cleaner

Brasso - you can get it at Home Depot, Ace, etc (only hardware stores). I use it to clean nasty brass pool cue joints.

Thanks...and that was my first thought as well. The brass letters are fairly thick (1/4" or more), and the Brasso cleaned the face of those letters very well. But I'm having a tough time removing the white residue from in-between the letters. Tried q-tips and a toothbrush on those tough spots, but not much luck.

I gave that some thought as well, but it seems that this has been polished many times throughout it's life.
The reason that I picked this up is that I thought it would look great on an old-fashioned style bat rack...and if that is how I end up using it, I think having it polished will enhance the overall beauty of the piece.

Try q-tips and white vinegar to remove the residue. Test it on a small part first. May need to let the vinegar sit on the residue for a few mins.
