Default Play Ball exhibit at Detroit Inst of Art

I just went to the Play Ball exhibit at the Detroit art museum and it was awesome. I especially want to thank E Powell Miller for lending his collectibles to the exhibit, particularly his T206 set. That set is absolutely magnificent and it was neat seeing all of the cards in person, including his Wagner and plank cards.

If anyone is near there and has a chance to see it I would highly recommend it.

I thought the exhibit ended last September, glad to hear its still ongoing as I thought I had missed it.

Thank you for the kind words. It’s my passion and now 2 on the Registry. It’s improved over last year so you won’t be bored to see it again. I hope it brings kids visiting the museum into the hobby. I learned a lot from the board.

Did they make any changes to the exhibit or is it the same as it was before?

Lots of changes. T 206 set significantly upgraded with about 40 9’s and sampling’s of cards from each decade and memorabilia from Cobb, Ruth and 84 Tigers.

The exhibit runs through Sept 15th. It also has some cool game worn jerseys, baseballs, a catcher's glove from the late 1800's, old photos and pictures, etc. It was a lot of cool historically significant memorabilia.

Was downtown today, so we stopped in. I love the Charlie Bennett mitt. Thanks for sharing your collection. The wall of cards was stunning!

I'm drooling looking at all the items posted from the Detroit Art Museum !!! I must go for a look. Powell - Are all these items yours or "just" the T206 - "Wall of Cards " ?
