All's Quiet on the Football Front
Where is everybody these days? Board is awful quiet.
Anybody bidding on anything in the REA auction ending today? I'm up on a few things right now. jeff |

I have been peeking in from time to time but, like you said, there's not much happening. This time of year, I am eat up by baseball fever. However, when October/November rolls around, I will get back into a football collecting frame of mind. At that point, I will go back to finishing a high-grade '66 Topps football set and/or upgrading my mid-grade '69 Topps football set.

So who got what in REA from a football perspective? Some great, great items in the auction.

I managed to win the two (1935 and 1936) Pabst Football displays.
(1935 for the Pug Rentner and 1936 for Cliff Battles and Riley Smith) |

I was able to snag three 14x11 lobby cards depicting scenes from the Red Grange movie One Minute To Play. They aren't in great shape but I've never seen these before! Plan to clean them up a bit and get them framed for my basement. jeff |

@jeff Those are really neat. I really like movie lobby cards in general, they usually have interesting images and the 14x11 makes them easier to collect and store than movie posters. In another life, I could see myself collecting lobby cards.
You hinted at "cleaning" them up for display. I'm curious what kind of cleaning methods are you considering? I'm usually too scared I'm going to damage something to even think about cleaning it up. @andy. Thanks! Makes me feel better that you think they are undervalued. I'm glad I got them, but I felt like I stretched a little on both. It's been a slow several months with few pickups for me, and I somehow managed to keep myself out of the bidding war for the Overland Candy wrapper Baugh in your auction last month, so was willing to reach to get these as my consolation prize.
