Default February Pick Ups

Just got two signed Branch Rickey letters written to Johnny Hopp. One is a nice two page letter telling him he was not good enough to play outfield and that he wanted him to play first base for the Houston Buffaloes. A very stern letter.

Found a fairly nice Joe Black ball for my 1955 Dodger single signed collection. Now up to 10 with another 4 easy ones to go before hitting some of the more expensive ones.

I picked this up from my framer today. All 8x10 except Yoda who is 11x14. All from the original trilogy.

Thanks Mike and Dan. I've become fascinated with Star Wars graphs the last several months. It's a fun niche market.

Picked this one up at Steiner's auction last night. An oversized 12 x 22.5 Ty Cobb signed photo. Has condition issues as shown but still a great piece to me considering the image and size. My framer should be able to do wonders with the presentation.

The Star Wars piece is cool.

Seriously, where can a guy get an 8X10 photo of Bib Fortuna?

Wow!! That Star Wars piece is great!! It must have cost quite a few Imperial Credits to put it together.

His real name is Michael Carter and he works the Comic Con circuit every now and then.

He is quite affordable and can be found pretty reasonably on ebay auctions as well.

Yep...Athletes and doctors (no offense) aren't the only ones affected anymore. We can now lump Broadway into the "I don't care what my name looks like" category. Sad really.

Part of the reason I don't collect autographs of current players. Team signed baseballs just look ridiculous.

Default oldest player to hit a homerun

Just got this back from a Julio Franco signing. A ticket to his final homerun game. Had him sign it "oldest player to hit homerun". He was well over 48 years old. I asked for a signature in silver sharpie but of course it was ignored. But its still a cool piece.

#261 from Jim Stinson, welcome back! My wallet didn't miss you. First check I have ever seen of his where the Cancellation didn't go through the signature.

I got to hang out with Shaquille O'Neal this weekend. He was a riot, and was gracious enough to sign my rookie card.

Picked up this Buster signed rookie. It's hard to find signed rookies of today's players that aren't the insert version:

Very nice! Greenberg was the hardest one for me to find in blue as well.
