Default 1949 Bowman rough edges?

I acquired a small but solid lot of 1949 Bowmans, mixture of stars and commons. I'm not super familiar with the issue as I'm usually a Topps guy.

I've noticed that several of the cards (both stars and commons) have one or two "rough edges" almost similar to what is common on O-Pee-Chee. The cards measure full and line up perfectly with the cards in the lot that do NOT have rough edges. I was looking through some images and noticed some high grade cards appear to have this issue:

a PSA 7 Hodges with a jagged left edge: http://www.milehighcardco.com/ItemIm...3419a_med.jpeg

a PSA 10 Campy with a jagged right edge: https://images.psacard.com/s3/cu-psa...oundcorners=10

I'm assuming jagged edges are something that exists in this set? Can anyone explain (a) if that's the case and (b) if so, why?

Worried I bought some trimmed stuff but as I mentioned, they measure full, so my other thought was maybe sheet cut, until seeing slabbed cards with similar edges.

Here’s a Rizzuto, which is the card that worried me. 3 edges are jagged with the bottom being the only unaffected one. With the Knick on the bottom edge, I was concerned it was trimmed.

This is common with these issues - IIRC, it has to do with how they were cut with a piano-type wire (I could also be remembering COMPLETELY wrong)

A dull blade will do that too.

I've actually been told that the rough edges show it hasn't been trimmed.
