Name Game....odd coincidence of 3 of my favorite Yankees having the same middle name
I love coincidences....for example, in the early 1950's, Joe Page, Gerry Coleman, and Phil Rizzuto (my nearby neighbor in Hillside, NJ)
were 3 of my favorite Yankees. It fascinated me that all three of them had the same middle name....Francis. What is the probability of that occurring ? After all, the name Francis is not really that common. Anyhow, how's about chiming in with your strange coincidence(s) regarding BB players names....or numbers....or whatever ? . . Name Game....odd coincidence of 3 of my favorite Yankees having the same middle name
Here's an interesting "name exchange" to give this thread a friendly bump.
The last card (#240) in the 1949 BOWMAN set is identified as "Babe" Young. However, the player depicted on this card is actually Bob Young. Babe Young retired at the end of the 1948 season. Bob Young was traded to the St Louis Browns in June 1949. Appears to be a mix-up between Babe and Bob by BOWMAN. Anyway, neither of them played for the Yankees. TED Z T206 Reference . |
