Default Another BST Request

Posted By: JimB

Last week I requested that people make a habbit of posting scans for items they are selling since everyone is going to want to see a scan and it can just make the whole process a lot easier.

My request this week is even simpler. WHen an item sells, please leave the asking price up. I understand not wanting to document the details of the final deal since some people may want to be private about that, but is there a reason for deleting even the original post with asking price for the item?
Thanks,
jimB

Jim B., I agree with the request to keep the selling up, it is a nice reference. If you make a deal for other then the asking price I have no problem with putting sold by the original price. At least you know it was in the ballpark.

The scan request can be a time consuming one, that is why I personally don't always have a scan for all of the cards I have up.

Jim,

I always delete the price after selling the item.

I consider it private information - especially for the person who purchased the item.

My general thought is this.... the person who purchases my card may want to flip it quickly or sell it a later time. I don't want to leave a price up that could impede that person's efforts.

I have a BST request for YOU - put your e93 matty on the BST

Regards,
Joe

Well actually its been quite public so to suggest that its now private because the transaction occured I don't think really qualifies as private - what is private is what the actual terms between buyer and seller were unless there was some "posting negotiation" going on.

However, that said, if someone had the inclination they could put the asking prices and posts into a spreadsheet and keep them. (I'm not that interested)

I have inquired with my accountant about the taxes part of the selling cards. He told me that there really is no worry because of the amount of dollars I am dealing with is insignificant in the eyes of the IRS. I think that is the case for most of us. Now if you choice to report a sale you might as well the purchase price so you are not paying 100% to the IRS.

It's everyones choice but I don't buy into the ones reasons why they are not posted, so auction houses should not post there final sale prices. Heck if you are worried about taxes or someone finding out you are selling cards why use the B/S/T and why not totally delete the info when done?

Just my thoughts,

Lee

Joe,
You might have to duke it out with Jeff L. if I were to do that. I would hate to be the cause of blood spilling.

Has anyone else ever done this?

I request a card on BST. Seller confirms the card is still available & is mine. I go back to the post to check the price before sending payment. Post is marked SOLD with no amount. I then have to email the seller back to make sure I am paying the correct amount.
