Default b-e-collectibles off E-Bay?

Posted By: Aaron M.

Anyone know why b-e-collectibles was just NARU'd on E-Bay? (I'm hoping it's not another instance of shill bidding.)

Unfortunately, I just won one of his auctions (only $100, so not that bad) and have already paid via Paypal.

Can you email me with more details, or B-E's phone#? I just paid them via PayPal yesterday $2612.00. Thanks.

Something is also up with Johnny Hustle, another large ebay dealer. He shows us as NARU also.

I believe Joe Esposito and John Aluto(Johnny Hustle cards) are friends. I have dealt with both for years with no problems. Joe is also a regular large advertiser in SCD.

An eBayer can be NARU'd for technical reasons, like the phone number on file is incorrect. So a NARU can be temporary until the info is fixed and doesn't have to be for stuff like shilling.

Thanks, Scott. This is my third time buying from b&e, and I've had very positive experiences in the past. Hopefully this is just a minor technical issue with E-bay.

David is correct. I know of a couple of sellers who were NARU'd when their credit card on file expired and they didn't update it in time...jay

A not uncommon innocent occurence is that someone gets a new credit card as the last was lost or compromised or whatever, and forgets to update one of his online accounts (email server, eBay, PayPal). When the end of the month comes, the credit card number on file is not valid.

E bay has always been difficult to power sellers for infractions such as mentioned above..bank changes, credit card expired, address changes....Hopefully Joe and John will be back soon, they are both great guys...we as a community will be suffering as they bring a lot of quality merchandise to dealers and collectors, and without quality vendors moving material in this tight and growing sports market, vintage collectors would not be able to collect and smaller vintage dealers would not be able to deal!

Both members have thousand of positives and we all must appreciate the time and work it takes to acquire such astounding feedback ratios...
I wish E bay would spend more time investigating the fraudulent vendors that list reprints without disclosure, those that constantly sell forged autographs and those that prey on unsuspecting collectors...

As of this morning, both were still out of commission. Has anybody spoken with either one to see what battle they might be fighting with ebay? My dealings with both in the past have been great, and I hope they are back in business soon.

Default b-e-collectibles off E-Bay?

I'd like to add something to this thread. I occassionaly sell items on ebay and one time (somehow) there was a balance of about $3 that wasn't paid. I tried paying it via credit card but it just didn't happen. I figured it was no big deal because I'd cover it on the next bill.

The next time I sold a few items ebay emailed me to inform me that they were going to end my current auctions if I didn't settle the previous bill. I was a bit surprised because it had been a few months and they didn't send me any type of email regarding the issue. During those few months I was biddint on lots of material and not a word from them.

In any case I spent a long time and several emails trying to figure out why they wouldn't take my credit card. It was straightened out and my auctions continued.

ebay does a lot of odd things. A user could be NARU'd for something as simple as that.

I can't recall buying anything from B-E so I don't know how good this seller is. This post is not in defense of B-E but it's rather something to consider if someone is NARU'd.
