Default BB HOF'ers with no career contemporary cards issued

With so many BB HOF Rookie Card/Earliest Card Collectors out there, how does everybody handle (fill in your collection) those players/managers/executives/pioneers who never had a career contemporary card issued?

Chances are if a player has no card you can still find a nice vintage photograph of him.

Phil, Barry

For guys like Honus Wagner, if I can't afford a vintage card, I will use a coach or manager card as a substitute. For Honus, I have a 1948 Leaf John Wagner coach card. Love it cause he's got a plug of tobacco in his mouth.

Dont give up on Honus Wagner, cards from his playing days can be had for under $200 all the time. Ive picked up a few (E254, WG5/6) over the last 2 years, and just sold one last week for $150 in PSA-4 (1913 WG6).

If there's a team issue photo, I'll pick it up. Otherwise, I just recognize the fact that the player/executive/etc. has no card and move on. I can't imagine the hellish nightmare of trying to track down a tintype or ambrotype or whatever the heck there is of Candy Cummings or Alexander Cartwright. And how anyone could hope to find anything baseball related of Morgan Bulkeley is beyond me.
