1955 All American Sports Club premium. The mis-identified Snider is the dead giveaway. The Robinson uses the same base image as the JJK Copyart PC, the blank backed fan card, and the ciggies premium (Old Gold?).

here is the Marciano, which is the third card I know of from the issue.

The typical card from the Club was on a 9 x 12 sheet that could be cut down like a strip card. I got some sheets and all three premiums many years ago with literature from the Club in one lot. eBay, I think.

i don't know if PSA would grade them; I've never tried. Yours are really nice; mine are pretty rough, as you can see. If you are looking to sell, I don't think you need to slab them. They are sufficiently well known and rare that they would do very well at auction as-is.

Nice condition on those for sure. It seems someone posts these for identification every year and a half or so.

Like Adam I have never heard of anyone attempting to submit one, I think they lose gusto with the manufacturing date as many confuse them for earlier. Might be worth a call to PSA or Beckett if the first falls through if you want it entombed.

The Jackie is one of the nicer copies I have seen posted. Not sure where values are on these of late, but a Jackie collector without one would likely be interested.

Exhibitman's post shows the Marciano. See/read the 4th post on this thread.

Pics are small but here is more info about the issue http://www.oldjudge.com/archive/2011...ed-sports/484/

If the issue is not in one of the Krause Standard Catalogs good luck getting PSA to grade them. They will require all kinds of documentation to validate the issue. Better chances are with SGC or BVG. SGC might do it with nothing more than the link to the oldjudge auction.

That's a great looking Jackie. Definitely the same image as the Old Gold.

The trio is also referenced in my boxing book on page 267, and the Marciano is shown; if the graders have an up-to-date library, that help. Either way, let us know how it goes. If someone slabs the issue, I may want to send in my Robinson.

That would likely constitute an official reference that even PSA would accept. Coupled with the Oldjudge lot description, they might grade these.
