That's a really cool piece, Al.

You guys never cease to amaze me with some of the things you find.

Hey Al, I'm very surprised that no one has yet asked, but what year is this from?

When I read the title I thought it was gonna be a thread about Taveras.

Default Welcome

Darren -- 1953

Cardsfan-- I was 3

Joe -- glad they brought Taveras up. Worried he might be one of those guys who is injured all the time, like Harper. What they really need is a bull pen upgrade

The Cards were good in the 40s, terrible in the 50s, good again in the 60s, terrible in the 70s, good in the 80s, terrible in the 90s, and decent since 2000. Strong minor league system and move away from trading prospects for aging veterans has helped. The loss of Pujols has also given them needed roster flexibility
