Default Banner/Pennant Info

I just picked up what appears to be a banner of some sort, it measures approximately 9.5" by 12". I'm looking for a date of issue and value.

Thanks,
-Randall

I'm not a pennant expert, I'm sure Mike, Mark or someone else will jump in tho, but it appears to be cut from a vintage pennant. As far as value, I couldn't even guess. If it was a whole pennant it would be worth thousands, but just as a cut out I'm clueless.

It looks as if it was cut from an early Red Sox pennant. Board member Mark S. has the full pennant. He can probably help you out.

Yep...cut from a pennant. I think Brock is right that it was a Red Sox pennant. Can't tell you what kind of value, but it's probably not much. That's a real shame, but I bet some kid did it 80+ years ago.

I didn't pay much for it, but it displays nicely. How big of a pennant would it have been before it was cut down, it's fairly good size as it is?

The pennant it came from dates to the teens and pennants back then were quite large. I'm just guessing but I'd say in the neighborhood of 3' long.

Yep... everybody is correct! This came from an oversized Red Sox Pennant from the early teens. The full pennant measures 37"... I'm currently on a remote computer, and will post a photo when I get bck home.

Thanks for posting, Mike!

I just noticed that your avatar (taken from your Cubs Pennant) is strikingly similar in design to this Red Sox logo. Looks like they were manufactured by the same company.

Below is one more, apparently from the same series. This is the NY Giants version.... Does anybody know of any other teams who used this same design format? These are the only three I am aware of, with Mike's Cubbie likely being the rarest (I have seen 2-3 of the Red Sox and Giants over the years, but only one of Mike's). Would love to see some other examples, provided they even exist!
