Default 1952 Topps Mays PSA 7 with 3 day auction

These Ebay auctions always make me nervous...who does a 3 day auction on a card like this? Feedback is 223 with a couple of negatives, but looks pretty active...What are everyone's thoughts on these types of auctions..just makes me really cautious.

Just another douchebag scammer. He stole the image from PWCC:

I won a Mantle last week. Looks like I'll win a Mays this week.

I'd be a little cautious, BUT I wouldn't automatically write him off as a scammer. This may be real. Some of his older auctions show a decent track record of vintage stuff. You might land this at a steal, and hell, with the buyer protection, why not take a chance?

Ok, how about this. I emailed the douche bag and and told him his scam was busted and I was going to report him to eBay. He replied back and admitted he stole the scan, but said that he had another one just like it for sale and couldn't take pictures since his camera was broken. I emailed him back and told him that he could use a scanner, borrow another camera or even use a camera phone if he really had one for sale. I also insinuated to him that the '48 Leaf DiMaggio that he is also selling was probably a stolen scan as well. He replied back that indeed was, and mocked to by telling me "good luck trying to find the link." Well, I did find it. He stole the DiMaggio scan from a 2007 Robert Edward Auction:

I said I wouldn't "automatically" write him off as a scammer. That didn't mean that he wasn't, but that there was enough track record to maybe give it a chance. Anyways, good job smoking him out David. It's good seeing these f*cko's get caught before too much damage is done.

David James: Great job of outing this DB. He's dumped both auctions, most likely due to your perseverance.

No, I am not a fireman...must be an old poster on the site you are talking about. I am a 52 Topps Registry set holder and I hate these guys stealing scans....Thanks for getting him to end the auction...good to have a place to go to help report these guys.

I hate to write off a whole state, but what is it about so many of these scammers living in Ohio?

Negatives on Air Jordan Sneakers and selling 1952 PSA 7 Mays?
Makes one chuckle. The fact that he admitted to stealing the scans is bad.

Ebay is full of scammers right now = bad economy.

The other scam to be VERY ALARMED of right now, is them sending an empty box to your next door neighbor using delivery confirm , the item shows up as delivered and in your zip code. Try to explain that one to ebay buyer protection.

Make sure anything you have sent of any value uses signature confirmation,
and avoid people with negatives and feedback that does not make sense.

I have been buying stuff on ebay since 1998, and it's a much safer place now because of buyer protection, but 10 times as many scammers are thre just because of the numbers.
