Default Help with Dating this Giles Willie Mays Auto Ball

Ok so the old story of finding a ball in a dresser draw comes true once in a while.

I found this ball in my grandmother dresser after she passed in the late 1990s.

No clue where it came from as my grandfather was not a big sports fan and I had never known of the ball.

So the question is when the heck was this signed. I know it's good, but I would like to date it. I know guys change how they sign but I can't find a Mays auto like this at all. It is on a Giles NL ball and has a nice even tone to it. Sorry about the glare but I just couldn't get the scan without it.

Looking forward to hearing some ideas on this one.

That printed style can practically be pinpointed to 1954.
