Default Need Date on Unopened Sweet Caporal Box

Posted By: barrysloate

A customer of mine who is not familiar with the board has asked me to post these images. He hopes that someone will be able to accurately date the box. It is unopened and sealed. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry it is a little too wide. Thank you.

Barry, there was a small hoard of the "Ask dad" campaign sealed cases found maybe 10 years ago or so. I believe the campaign didn't start until after 1918 (I can check my records when I get home from work) so the packs are post 1918.

Edited to add: I had a copy of my guide on my bookshelf with notes in it... "Ask Dad" was circa 1917-1922. About 10-15 years ago, there were 3 or 4 cases of 500 found. The case shown above would certainly date in that time frame; 1917-1922.

Thanks Jon and Mark, and I will relay this information to him. We didn't think it was 1910.

"to never mind". As far as I know the "Ask Dad" campaign started in 1918.......... I would suggest that this more graphic carton (I have owned 2 different versions) is post 1920.
