Default Football Autograph Identification Help

I'm still trying to figure out how to post the image, but it's available at this image hosting site:

https://ibb.co/dnWBdp

The letter references that the signer is the nephew of former pro football player Monk Gafford, but I cannot find anything regarding this player. The first name appears to be "Dave" but none of my research has uncovered anything. I believe the writer is also a football player since it came with other football autographs.

Any ideas?

The first name appears to be Dowe not Dave.

Good catch - I thought it was Rowe at one point, but it's clearly Dowe (interesting name and not one that I would have thought of). The autograph appears to be out of Dowe Aughtman. Thanks for the help!

Wow, that was a tough one...I know I looked for about an hour. One thing that didn't help was Dowe's note. After knowing who wrote it, I found that his wife's name was Helen Gafford Aughtman, so it appears that Monk was his wife's uncle, which made it harder. LOL
