That poster hung on my bedroom door for a few years until Farah Fawcett and that red swimsuit arrived.

I wonder how many Catfish Monday posters were produced.

Great Clemente photo; image on the 1969 Nabisco Team Flakes card, one of my favorite subsets - I think the whole set is from these photos

Always liked the ‘68 SI posters. The Clemente was always one of my favorites. I had the Brooks on the wall for years and kept moving it around my room; too many tack holes to count. I guess I wasn’t smart enough back in the day to use the same hole each time I moved the poster. I was a true baseball fan and when Farrah with the red swimsuit came along I had the Brooks AND Farrah displayed.
Really like how Brooks is featured on the SI sales poster; always save the best for last... I always wondered why so many SI posters were hard to come by and others were a dime a dozen. |

With all the great Clemente stuff posted from your collection I was surprised this Easter Sunday when I didn't see a snapshot obtained from the Clemente family collection of Roberto wearing Easter bunny ears.
Keep all the Clemente coming. Really surprising Topps didn't put out a card for him in 1974 like the did for Ken Hubbs in 1964. |

Quitcrab,
Was that in Hunt’s auction? I don’t remember seeing it. |

Day 93
ca. 1973 "Touch of Royalty" 8mm Film... And of course I found one still sealed in original cellophane so purchased it as well (I know...I have a problem). Not sure if this one is in color, it doesn't have the sticker like the first one, but I'm assuming it is. And here's a 1973 tribute page from a magazine that has Roberto in a similar pose. |

I am not aware of any photos of Clemente wearing bunny ears. It maybe out there. It maybe as elusive as the full 1960 full Bazooka box that Howard has been looking for for 20 years.
Love the Clemente film. Sure would be nice to view.I have a similar Brooks Film and action cartridge. I have never viewed them. Was Clemente issued in the action cartridges from 1970? |

That's a great panel.
I'm curious what others think about multi-player panels, but I really love them (mainly Bazookas, but I like Hostess, and even Berk Ross in this format). I have a '63 and '65 Bazooka panel with Clemente, and I really like them, though I know some purists prefer the single player image and standard size. |

I love complete boxes and panels. Wish I had more, but they have been pricey for a while. I did have some Hostess panels and singles, but have sold most of them off. Mike |

Day 97
I believe this next item was a stadium giveaway. I have seen more than one copy floating around, but definitely a period piece. ca. 1970s Stadium Giveaway Snapshot photo... |

I have been wanting one of these Louisville Slugger commemorative black bats for a long time. They were given to the players and staff of the year's World Series teams. They were not made available to the public and as such the 1971 versions tend to be hard to find and cost prohibitive...at least on my budget. My understanding is that less than 100 for each World Series team were created. They were produced annually between the early 1930s to the late 1990s. I was struggling to sleep last night and came across these two for Baltimore and Pittsburgh listed as a pair. The asking price was half what I was willing to pay for the Pittsburgh bat alone. Sometimes sleepless nights pay off.

Quote:
2 - The Congressional medal comes in 4 variations (Not including the 2 solid gold ones minted) - large - numbered (1-1950), large unnumbered (50), small bronze and small gold plated (don't know the quantities on those) - I do have one of the gold plated small ones I will post when I find it. 3 - Plug - I consigned a really nice 1962 Kahn's Clemente to Heritage for anyone interested: https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c...ignment-112816 |

Day 256 When I first saw this next item, I immediately noticed the color & clarity of the photo. When I compared it to the photo above, you can really tell the difference. I do believe that both were issued in the same time frame, but maybe the matted one was in a first print run and then later they printed more of a slightly lesser quality. I'll post a side by side to show the difference. The photo on the right is the more common variation. I believe the photo on the left was part of a small booklet (which Howard made reference to earlier), mine has been cut from that I believe. 1970s Matted photo... Side by side comparison photo... |
