I think he will make it Alan. This is a wirephoto showing Goldberg carrying the ball. Hall of famers George Musso and Bulldog Turner are also pictured.

Jim C., I love the way that slab looks all sparkly. How did you do that? Dim light behind it and digital photo?
That sparkly look would probably garner a few extra bids on eBay I bet?

brian,

Ha! Your guess is as good as mine--maybe I left the light on over the scanner by mistake.

I have only recently learned how to use the scanner.

Jim, try putting a piece of black construction paper behind the cards. It puts in a nice neutral background.

Jim, never would have guessed that was a scanner image. It really looks cool.

Here is my favorite Marshall Goldberg--a mint beauty from the 55 Topps AA set.

I sold a photo to Marshall Goldberg on eBay through his grandson. After winning it, his grandson told me he showed the listing to the 80-something Marshall and Marshall said said he'd never seen the photo before, so his grandson won it for him. The 1940s photo was for Marshall Goldberg Day in Chicago and showed him in cowboy suit, gun in one hand and football in the other.

Marshall was one of the first Jewish football players that I had corresponded with on a regular basis in the 1990's. He was a really nice man.
