Default 1991 Donruss Scott Fletcher

How's that for a sexy thread title?

Opened a box of 1991 Donruss hunting for an Elite (you know how that turned out), and found two of these Scott Fletcher cards with the same inking anomaly. Haven't seen any others on eBay, COMC, Sportslots, etc-- anyone else have one of these, or was it native to this particular box?

Are you referring to the yellow blur?

Yes, it runs up his left leg and into the torso, and messes up the “ond” in second base…

Haven’t seen that particular printing error, but some collectors will pay a premium for those. I sold one a year or so back for $8-10 on eBay. Not bad for a junk wax common!

This is a fairly common type of print flaw, in this case, caused by an obstruction over that portion of the magenta plate. These come in all shapes and sizes (some more aesthetically pleasing than others...NNOF Thomas) as the blockages to the ink can be created by all sorts of debris.
