Default 1911 Full Webbed Baseball Glove

I found another sporting goods dealer magazine in my boxes and a certain ad brought back a painful memory. In the very early nineties I decided that I should thin down my collection so I decided the baseball gloves should go. So I put them in my antique mall booth and to my surprise they sold very quickly. I had been buying the gloves from the teens era for $5 -$10. I remember passing on a Ty Cobb glove because it was $40. Maybe I shouldn't be admitting this. Anyway I had these very unique glove from the teens that had webbing between each finger. I recognized it as unusual but it had a whole in the palm and I priced it at $35. I later ran into the collector who was buying these from me and I ended up selling him more stuff including the only glove I had held back a Dazzy Vance with excellent signature. I told him it was my keeper, but he offered $100 so gladly let it go. Anyway he got around to telling me the webbed glove was around $200. I think I saw one on ebay for $800 once. Now all I have is this ad. On the good side I bought the glove a bat and very early ball for $17.50 at an auction, so at least I made a profit.

Default Duckweb

Here's a Duckweb, like the one you've pictured above. It's always hard to know what to let go, when you have to thin down. A good rule of thumb is to keep the really rare/unique stuff (and part with the stuff you could some day replenish).

If I had a platypus that was missing a leg, that would be perfect.
