Default Thierry Henry to the Red Bulls - Thoughts?

As a big supporter of the MLS, I can't help but think this would be great for the league. Yes, Henry is getting up there in his career, but his star power can't hurt IMO.

Is it a done deal? His star power would help, but I don't think he'll draw in a lot of new fans. I can't wait for the world cup!!

Default Soccer

I love soccer but have always had a hard time with MLS, maybe just because there isn't a team close to me. I'm not sure if Henry would be a big draw or not? Name players are always good for the league but not sure if he has the star power in the US?

I'm a huge Arsenal fan so I'd like the chance to see Henry play here - especially if St. Louis soon gets a team - but I just don't think bringing aging Europeans to MLS is a good move for the league. I'd rather see MLS groom young Americans for the top UEFA leagues. Thanks to the global reach of cable and satellite TV, I find, say, Clint Dempsey at Fulham way more compelling than Freddie Ljungberg in Seattle.
