Default Reccius Wagner - PSA reproductions!

Posted By: Hal Lewis

I just got one of the 500 reproductions of the Reccius Honus Wagner card that Leland's had made and encapsulated by PSA.

It is really cool and looks a LOT like the real thing!!

Now I won't miss the REAL one so much.

Did anyone else get one of these in the mail???

No clue how you get one or anything.

I will scan mine tomorrow and post it if nobody else gets one.

Then again... if nobody else gets one... then who knows how effective the marketing was?

Was it just a marketing ploy devised to increase interest in your card?
Not that I would care of course, because I'd still love to have one.........no doubt one will turn up on ebay in the next few days!!!!
Wonder how much it will go for?

Wow Hal. I know that that there are several people on the board (including myself) that would love to include one of those in their collection. I guess we'll just all have to compete for the reprints that pop up on the secondary market.

I think you guys should call Leland's and see if you can get one.

Even if they ran out, they would probably make more since they advertise on the back of the card?

Hal

I think you should contact Leland's and get a ton of them since you have the
right connections. And, being the generous gentleman that you are, donate a
Wagner to all us guys on this Forum, who are on your "buddies" list.

I third Ted's proposal....especially if the label indicates it's from the "Hal Lewis Collection".

I'd have my secretary give Leland's a call but she's been off for the last 5 years and isn't expected back soon, that and having my phone service shut off for non-payment since I've been helping my parents keep the bill collectors from repossessing their farm since my Dad started taking those exotic treatments for his treminal illness. Just remembering him say to me the last time I seen him, "I sure wonder what it would be like to just hold that Reccius Honus Wagner ROOKIE, just once." I hated to let ole Dad down....but now....

Or since you still technically own it, have some printed up advertising yourself and sell them...just imagine a money making business expense. I even think Dad might have a couple extra buck hidden in a can in the back yard and since his eyesight isn't so good these days....

Just wanted to thank everyone for your interest in the Reccius Wagner reprints. Requests for copies have been pouring in!

When we decided to do the reprint, we wanted it to be something special, like the card itself. Therefore, we only had 500 made and they've all been sent out. Right now, we don't plan on producing any more, as we're pretty busy with our current auction. However, we see how much people like these promos, and we'll continue to do them in the future.

Thanks again for your interest and enthusiasm.

Ron Rolleri

Hmmm, so no more for us? Well, keynesian economics tell me that 3 or 4 will be on ebay within 10 days, and I predict the 4th will sell for over $100............
Anyone care to make their prediction?

Im just wondering what you had to do to get one of the 500 in the first place. Its obviously not enough to be registered - that, for some reason, doesnt even get a catalog delivered to me.

Thanks Hal, but if somehow my bid ended up winning - I'd have to sell my house to pay for it. Somehow I doubt my wife would be too pleased.

I'm waiting for one to end up in some donkey's hands, get cracked out, and sold on Ebay as a "I don't know what this is, but my loss is your gain" auction.

Ron:

What was the criteria for receiving one of the 500 that you sent out? I'm pretty sure that it is just a matter of me being on the West Coast and the corresponding shipping delay.

A quick EBay search indicates that no one has opted to sell this beauty! Mine will proudly display on my desk for the next year or so.

I finally got one of these! A friend of mine bought one today on ebay as a gift for me. I had been searching ebay for the word "reccius" ever since I heard about the promo cards, and have come up empty every time. "Reccius" was NOWHERE to be found in the title or description in the auction that my friend won.

Id crack it out and submit it to PRO. Id much rather have my reprints graded numerically than the PSA designation "reprint" (heck, Id even prefer Authentic Reprint, or just "Authentic" for short).
