Default Colorized pre war photos and images - share your faves, here’s mine

I just picked up an inexpensive but (to me) very cool colorized image of Ty Cobb and it made me wonder if other members have colorized images of players or ballpark scenes that we almost never see in color.

Love to see others faves here - Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Josh Gibson, etc.

Thx for sharing -
Jeff

I think they are fantastic, sir! I think colorized gives a real sense of the reality of the era. Something people today seem to appreciate more; they can relate. More so than black and white. Whenever I show off my 1953 Bowman set, everyone is interested in the color, and gloss over the black and white set.

You colorize the photos yourself? That would be a neat trick to learn... these look so great!

Not MLB, but this is my favorite RPPC, from 1914, that I’ve had for many years. Recently I found a version online that was colorized.

I posted these to the "Man Cave" thread a while back, but they would seem appropriate here, too. Color just makes it look more real. Like the photos were taken 5 minutes ago.

I have this Cobb photo that was colorized a long time ago. According to the letter that came with it, it is hand colored and might have come form Cobb himself. It was a BST purchase several years ago.
