Default bonds was a superstar, hitting homers, winning mvps

Posted By: doug

from the beginning of his playing days.....regardless of whether he took steroids...he was and always will be a hall of fame caliber player, period. he would still have 600+ homers, multi mvps, amazing stats even if he never took steriods. Its not like he was some crappy player who took steroids and then became a superstar. Like him or not, you have to acknowledge his talent from when he was in college to today. Bonds not on steriods in his prime was still one of the top 10 players of all time. Sure he may not be a nice guy but many players over the history of the game have not exactly been very nice or warm.

To me, Bonds is an obvious HOF'er based on his playing career, the majority of which was made up of "non-steroid issue" seasons. The only question I see is whether his single-season and all-time home run records should be recognized for what they are considering that they WERE obviously impacted greatly by the steriod-era. Of course, Bonds is far from the only one but most of the others would not have near-HOF type numbers during other eras in baseball history.
