Default 1925 Washington Senators/Possilbe World Series Ball Help

Hello,
Just picked up this baseball and after buying it I regretted doing so because I thought I paid too much. But now I feel it might be worth more than I thought. It's a 1925 Washington senators baseball no matter what. The ball is from 1925 only. But I believe it is a world series baseball because I think I see the auto of Lee Meadows(under Nick Altrock) who was a player for the pirates and pitched in thw world series in 1925. In-fact if this is a World Series baseball, it most likely is game used in the 1925 World Series because according to Brandon(ball expert) store bought baseballs the presidents name was in red. While game used/professional balls the name was in black like this one.

So can you guys help me figure out more names and whether the one is actually Lee Meadows. So far I know of Nick Altrock, Walter Johnson and it looks like John J McGraw on the sweet spot.

Thank you all very much for any help

You finally took my advice and bought a black light .... The name above the name that appears to be McGraw looks a lot like Bill McKechnie who was the Pirates manager in 1925 , another name I recognize is Win Ballou who only played one season with Washington 1925 , Hard to tell if the signature on the ball is actually John McGraw but it does have some similarities

I believe Tom Zachary gave up home run #60 to Babe Ruth.
Neat baseball!

You've got Spencer Adams as well, one of the first Mormon Ballplayers and a member of the Senators. That is Bill McKechnie for sure as Jim Mentioned it might be.

Could the name above the the presidents stamp be Bucky Harris. I'm curious of the name on the sweet spot under who I think is John McGraw, it has a long name but no name on the rosters look like it and looks to start with a A.

Also maybe Joe Judge above Emil Yde?

A wild guess on that name near the sweet spot is Kenesaw Landis

I think you might be right Jim. In looking at his autos online, his first name does look the same and there is a M between the first and last name. Just hard to see the last name because it groups in with the auto above.

Would make sense too because if it was a WS game in Pittsburgh , especially the 1st game which I believe they played in Pitt , Both McGraw and Landis would likely have been present and probably seated together as they seem to be the only two names (so far) not from either the Senators or Pirates. Like "Casey" used to say "You can look it up"...

Sadly I think we can all agree there's no babe ruth on the ball.

So do you think this was most liked gotten by a player or someone important. Not sure if a regular fan would have gotten these players. So it's looking like it's probably a game ball from game 1.

I would agree with this. The first photo at the bottom is Kennesaw and the second photo has M Landis. He tried to squeeze his last name between McGraw and the stitches.

Really nice ball! I don't think it would be a game used ball from the series though. I would guess it would have been signed before the game and not after. I don't know if Landis and McGraw would have ben around post-game. But maybe they were.

Really neat ball you got there. Congrats!

Summarizing what others have posted and adding in a few guesses of my own. Here's what I have come up with (based on the black light illuminated photos). The names with a "?" are guesses on my part (and could be wildly off).

Pictures 1 & 2 (Sweet Spot)
Bill McKechnie - John McGraw - Kenesaw Landis (Pretty spectacular trio)

Picture 3
Nick Altrock - Lee Meadows - Tom Zachary - Joe Judge - Emil Yde - Firpo Marberry (?)

Picture 4
Stanley Coveleskie (?) - Harry Leibold (?) - Win Ballou - Unknown Signature - Spencer Adams - Walter Johnson (Awesome!)

Picture 5 - this one is particularly faded and tough to make out.
Bucky Harris - J. Honus Wagner & perhaps two other unidentifiables

Picture 6 - (repeat of picture 3)

Picture 7
The rest of J. Honus Wagner (not too shabby)

Why is there so much discussion about this ball? It's a nice 1925 World Series ball signed in Pittsburgh, probably at the opening game of the series. All the signers were there and I don't know why there would be any clubhouse. Gamer or not, I wouldn't know. Send it to JSA or PSA.

Not me, and didn't mean to come off that way. Let me try again:

Great 1925 World Series ball, Brock. Why don't you give it to JSA or PSA and let them figure out who's on it?

Broc.

Just curious - did you ever sell this then?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1925-World-S...p2047675.l2557

One other question - how did you get the name Brock Lee? You either have extremely funny parents or what's the story behind it? Reason I ask is one year for Halloween I went as broccoli.

Oh sorry that when you're trying to sell a 1916 scorecard and telling how a 1917 sold for $3,000. Yet you leave out how the 1917 was a WORLD SERIES PROGRAM.

Email from classless moe this morning
"Ya know that trophy you thought was ugly? I made $700 on it, that was ok. Not as nice as the cool $4000 I made on the Joe Jackson D&M Sign, or the $6000 I made on the 1926 & 1928 world series tickets."

PS - eat more broccoli, it's good for you.
Wow.. what a major D-BAG you are. This was a thread that he started on a pickup he made that you continue to post in. And he is a gnat? As*hole is too nice as you are simply an as*hole want to be.
