Default grade with cut corner on Rudolph, Toronto?

Posted By: willygreg1

I bought the following card on ebay last week and was curious about how the grade was affected by the cut to the cards upper left corner.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4126945197&category=31719&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWN%3AIT&rd=1

The seller advertised it fairly and it seemed like $25 was a pretty good price for a card that is overall very strong.

The card is otherwise in great shape and appears to be comparable to some PSA 4s and even 5s that I have. Could this still grade in the VG/EX or possibly EX range?

After a listing in eBay, it appears that it's worth about...$24.50! If the cut doesn't bother you, great - but basically you have a nice $25 card.

PSA has graded worse cards than this a 4 but it doesn't earn the technical grade, you you'd be risking more $ by sending it in.

Hard to tell from the picture, but my opinion is that the the card looks a little too narrow, left to right as well.

I agree, the card looks like a 4. Does it have an American Beauty back? as it looks quite narrow.

It has a Piedmont back. I think you're correct about the 4.

I checked it against some of my other cards and it is more narrow than my others. The edges are relatively clean under a loop. Do you think it could have been trimmed or is it common to have slight variations in size? The height is consistent with my other cards.
