Default The new SABR Pictorial History Committee Mystery Photo Supplement is out

The November SABR Pictorial History Committee Mystery Photo Supplement is out. A surviving section of Washington Park’s brick wall at First Street and Third Avenue in Brooklyn has been claimed to be the oldest piece of a major league stadium still standing. Is that right? You can find out here:

Kudos to Mark for another well-researched installment of the Mystery Photo Supplement.

I think it's time for a spin-off and for Mystery Photo to go the blog route and stop being a 'Supplement'.

I skimmed over it as it's going to take more time than I have now to fully read it but nice job Mark.

I admit that it isn't easy reading. The lead article is an outgrowth of a contentious and long running dispute between some mostly NYC SABR members as to the origins of the wall. I am told that there has actually been some yelling and screaming .

I thought that what had been published on the subject supporting one side of the argument was not rational, and moreover that there was a very rational argument that could be made supporting the other side, so I did. The objective was to have something on the record constructed so that if someone disagrees, they have to at least construct a reasoned response.
