1966 Topps wrongbacks

I know some wrongbacks are plentiful & some are very rare, but has anyone ever heard of 1966T baseball w/ the 1966T Batman backs?

Those sound interesting. I haven't heard of them before, but I do have a few cards that are newer but similar.

1979 topps with 1978 Topps backs
197* Topps backs with mork and mindy sticker fronts (Don't recall the year, and the sticker fronts are printed on cardboard rather than sticker material)
Bazooka box with 1978 topps backs inside
Bazooka box with Black hole backs inside

These came either from sheets used to adjust the presses - the wrong back cards. Or as a way of using up unfinished stock in the case of the Bazooka boxes.

I've seen wrong backs with wrong bios from the same year or blank, but nothing like you two have come across.

Strange as it sounds, I think I heard.... or saw on ebay 60s T baseball with 60s T batman backs

Anything's possible---probably a few scrap sheets got out the back door or from the dumpster.

actually sold them to a buddy of mine
he has 66 topps 66 venezuelan 66 opc
and a lot of 66 blank backs as well as the monster laff backs

Printing flubs happen like this all the time. I know there's a 1991 Topps Chipper Jones(or few) floating around out there with a 1990 Topps Football back.

It was a while ago - for sale - but the guy wanted what seemed to me at the time like stupid money for a printing error. I passed and haven't looked back.

I'm led to believe that most printing errors are pretty rare, and the true value of these arise from collectors of the individual player. Sure the commons are neat to have, but honestly, I could see a handful of Clemente collectors going nuts over that.

Now, the modern f*** ups are a little more common, but I've got some printing errors of my favorite modern players rookie cards. Sure I only payed a couple of bucks, but still a premium over standard book value. I'd really love get my hands on one of the '91 chipper jones with the '90 football backs. I don't wanna spend that kind of money on it, but I'm sure some Chipper fan is more than ready to. The value on things like that is not what the average person is willing to pay, but more determined by what some die-hard is willing to pay.

Type collectors do sometimes go after these things but printing errors that get into a catalog or recognized list bring the biggest premiums, because people are actively looking for them....like the 1990 Upper Deck Mike Witt that just sold on ebay.

I have collected Topps variations and errors for a number of years and normally, blank backs ( unless they are actual recognized proof cards) and wrong backs do not bring great premiums, even on older cards, unless they obtain some sort of hobby acclaim

I just sold on ebay a 71 Topps Super with Rico Carty on the front and Ron Santo on the back.

It only sold for $5.50 with free postage.

I've got a Flood/Aparicio as well.

I am a die hard Clemente collector. For the price the guy was asking, just didn't attract me. I have a few blank backs and other printing anomalies - didn't pay crazy sums for them. Just my opinion I suppose - as I am sure there are Clemente collectors out there to whom it might be worth more.
