I've been buying this vintage baseball dance programs on ebay for the past few years. They don't seem to bring big bucks for baseball items dated from the early 1870's. I think there a neat collectable. Any thoughts? Not
many items to be had from this period for under $100.00 these days. I now have 6 most dated early 1880's and all from the New England , Ohio and New York areas ( minor league teams ).
I did some research on The Empire Baseball Club and it looks to me like they once played the Red Stockings.

I've had a number of these over the years myself, they are not too rare. Empire is a common name for a ballclub...I can't read the blurry text but if any players are named I can research them for you and see if it was the team that played Cincinnati.

The social aspect was certainly more important for most of these guys. This is an 1866 grouping. The earlier printed programs/invitations tend to more desireable and costly.
