He has visited this board and I would have no worries at all dealing with him - imo. I have had many great transactions in the past with Bob.

I have recently completed a trade with Bob, and include myself among his ample list of references.

Bob is a stand up guy and I would just e-mail him your concerns...I am fairly certain things will be put right to both your satisfactions.

Bob is a topnotch trader and member of OCT and VCT. He may be having e-mail problems right now as I have not heard from him in awhile. I've known him for 3 years or so and this sounds uncharacteristic of him

Thomas, I recommend emailing one of the other posters in this thread that have dealt with Mr. Bannon in the past and see if the contact information lines up correctly. I have seen elsewhere where bad people tried to use a highly recommended trader's name but the email address and mailing info didn't match. It's an idea and worth a shot anyways, just not a good idea to be posting private information on a message board just yet.

I have not logged into N54 in a couple of weeks and wasn't aware of this thread. Jimi Thayer was kind enough to notify me of it so I can respond myself.

Mr. McConnell contacted me in a very terse fashion a while back. He didn't identify himself and never mentioned that he was a part of this or any group. Initially I ignored him because he didn't id himself and honestly the email was hard to read, and I thought it might be a minor.
He was persistant, had seen my website and urged me to trade with him.
He had quite a few hits to my 70's lists and I agreed. That process was very difficult. He sent several emails and was never able to account for just what he was sending. At first it was 300+ cards then it was 200+_. Well it was about 140, which was fine. I asked him for a website or at least a want list so I would know what to send him in return. In turn he sent me this:

"im always looking for kaline or tigers or older stuff anything interesting
ty ps all these cards are very nice atleast exmnt but alot are nrmnt but
not looking for nrmnt value what ever you feel is fare is fine with me"

That by the way was one of the more easy to read emails. I only mention that, not to hurt Thomas but to explain that communication is an issue here.

His cards arrived, they were fine, ex+ or better 70's cards. There were some dupes which I sent back to Thomas. So I sent the following email:

"Hi,

Sorry no Kalines, and I usually have 1 or 2 in my dupes box. He's not hard to find here in YankSox land.
I do have plenty of Tigers cards. Here's a stack that should be fair return for those 70's hits:

1960: 152.161.418.364.245.429(league Kings with Kuenn)
1959: 442.343.2(Yost, tough card to find)

I'll also toss in some typecard oddballs.

Please send address, I'm at:......."

I heard nothing back from him. Now his decription of those cards as having gone through the wash is ridiculous. They were VG+ or better, AND I threw in extra value because I wanted to. I also told him that I would keep an eye out for other Tigers cards and would be happy to send them his way. No obligation. I don't have any Tigers fan traders right now so I would be happy to do that.

Thomas contacted me when he received the cards that I sent. He complained and wanted more. I was annoyed by this. The irony was that I was probably going to send him some more Tiger cards if I found any but certainly wasn't going to be brow-beaten into it. In an effort to coerce me into doing that he suggested we reverse the trade. I had already explained to him that I had no catalogue of the cards that he sent and that I had shared some with a neighbor.
I have ignored no emails from Thomas.

I am a new member here and am sorry to be in this mess. I told Thomas that I wished that he had never contacted me. If he wishes to email me again I will look at sending him some more older Tigers cards when I get them. I will not be bullied into it just so he can come out ahead. Is this how he conducts his trades?
My apology over the length of this thread.

Thomas: Net54 is not Trade Court. There is no Trade Court, and nobody plays favorites.

If you have a list of the cards and their grades which you sent to Bob, and the ones which you got back from him; one way to proceed is to tabulate that for him, along with your assessment of the values involved so that he can consider your views.

Persons establish a reputation for fair trading through earning it. Similarly, it is often not important for an estimate of the values of cards exchanged to come out exactly equal.

I certainly do not know what happened here, but it seems apparent to me that the both of you are sincere and honest. So, it may take a bit of effort, but things should work out ok.

Coo-de-lah (clearly misspelled). That's from two different episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiam."

Joe P. is off on one of his self-appointed hiatuses. Perhaps this time he will not return. And besides, I don't feel the need to clear something with him before I say it.

First of all I think both parties are sincere and if communicate effectively (not sure possible on one end) then all should be ok. Barry- how 'bout that grammar. I want you NEVER to complain about me again

Thomas- get a spell and grammar checker.. and use punctuation....they work wonders and people (including me) will know what you are saying....or more importantly what you mean to say.

regards

Loved the X-mas tree and faith healing episodes. The expression on Larry's face when he was sucked into that prayer circle only to have his cell to go off in the middle of the prayer. I LMFAO!

"The Wire" ,"The Doll", and "The Car Salesman" are my favorites, but there are very few slackers in four and a half seasons. Leon, what grammar are you referring to? I'm missing something.

You mean Thomas's grammar- I see now. Maybe just writing a little too quickly and not proofreading. Also love the "Shrimp Theft" and "Fork Stealing" episodes. When Larry is pacing with those placards!- and who can forgive him for not thanking Susan for buying him dinner. Does it take a real effort just to say thank you? And tripping Shaq- 19,000 people wanted to kill him. He and I are very alike- both born in Brooklyn, both curmudgeons- and I always tell people I am just like him except for all the money.

I love the episode where he buys Ted Danson the shirt, and gets his teeth knocked out at the birthday party. That whole episode is genuis.
The writing is amazing, how everything is tied up at the conclusion of each episode.

That episode was just on last night. We watched it again. It was a funny one. None of his deeds go unpunished. That's how he seems to view the world.
