Default CDV help on Net54? Abe Lincoln Help

I know that this may not be anywhere close to this websites' specialty when it comes to authenticating something but for me, it comes down to 'who do you trust' so any info. would be greatly appreciated. I bought this this CDV (original auction listed below) as an original Lincoln CDV (circa 1863-64) produced before his death. I'm not concerned with value, I just thought it would be pretty cool to have an original Lincoln 'card' for my personal collection and wanted to see if it was it was everything I think it is, Thanks! -Frank

Since you were being careful and thoughtful enough to put this in a different section to solicit help I moved it here to get more eyes on it for you. It's barely off topic anyway......good luck....

I would contact David (Cycleback). He sorted through a huge assortment of Lincoln photos - mostly cdv's - and I also got to handle all of them. You have to understand that Lincoln was a hugely popular guy, so there were a LOT of cdv's of him created - many during his lifetime, probably more after he died, for at least twenty years afterward. Because there were so many created, even the ones printed during his lifetime could end up being photos of photos of photos.

In summary, I couldn't make any determination - nor could anyone else in my opinion - without having this item in hand or having a very large, clear scan.

Edited to add: I was fortunate enough to know a very old Civil War collector from the NE who also had a large collection of Lincoln cdv's - most were signed - so I've seen my share of these.

I have seen dozens (and own 9, 1 Just like this) Lincoln CDV's and in my opinion, it is OK.

Thank you to everyone for your help and thank you Leon for moving this thread for me. I know there's not much value here but being that this is going to be a PC item for me, I wanted to make sure it's good. Thanks again! -Frank

Greg , you already said that. My reply was just to explain why it is impossible to come to that conclusion based on the photo provided. I have no dog in this fight and my ego is in no danger.
