Adrian, what kind of a French Canadian name is Mulligan? If you are just as Irish as me then I'll know you are full as of it as I am.

In the future I will simply pay right away and only use a Echeck for items of greater value.

Leon can confirm this since he knows a few of the sellers.
Awesome news and congratulations. I thought this would give you an opportunity to clear the air about something that is really none of our business. You should post all of your new acquisitions in the pickups post so we can see them.

This country wouldn't even exist without the french. They are the ones who helped give us our freedom and gifted us the Statue of Liberty. They are one of our closest allies.

Default The Coin Deal

Ok, here is how I believe this coin deal went down:

Adrian met with a foreign buyer who arrived in his private jet at an undisclosed airport somewhere in Canada. This had all been previously arranged. Adrian arrived at the secret location first. After about 20 minutes he began to pace nervously and then, in the distance, he could see a black, no change that, a *white* limo approaching. The limo pulled up and came to a stop. The door opened and a dark tanned man in a white suit wearing a fedora hat stepped out. He had a suitcase. It was the mysterious foreign buyer! The buyer asked Adrian to open his suitcase, which he did. The buyer stepped forward to see the valuable coin inside - the very coin that would finance Adrian's pending card purchases!!! But then Adrian said "Not so fast, let's see the cash first". The buyer open his suitcase and Adrian counted the money while the buyer inspected the coin. The buyer nodded his approval of the coin and Adrian was satisfied after counting the money. They exchanged suitcases. The mysterious buyer then said "Ciao baby" as he got into his limo and sped off to parts unknown. Adrian got into his car and yelled out loud "Vindicated at last!!!" as he sped off in his car.

Fade to black and roll the credits ...

So is that pretty much how this deal went down Adrian?

Hahahaha!!! Your story is SO much cooler than reality!!!

No actually my brother made the deal since he works near the airport (where my friend landed and then left 20 minutes later by plane back to his city). Then a few hours later my close friend made a direct deposit to my bank account (I was not nervous I know this guy very very well...he his a young multi millionaire and ULTRA honest)....then I paid for my cards using Echecks...and so far I have received the 52 Topps Mantle and the Ray Demmitt T206 St-Louis variation.....NOW I was nervous as hell waiting for the 52 Mantle from FeDex....I just kept looking at the clock and walking around the house trying to pass the time and at 2h30 pm yesterday the card was in my hand and by 3h30 it was put into my bank vault and will no longer come out until long long down the road. Tomorrow I will be getting another card and the last one next Monday threw 2 separate shipping services. Then one last trip to my bank vault to put 2 more cards there and that will be that.

The shopping spree is over for a few months....next card on my list as you guys know is the T206 O'Hara variation card in a 2 grade by either BVG/SGC/PSA. Next year or much later this year I will bu ya Babe Ruth rookie in a 1 or 2 grade again by either 3 grading companies.

Ok, so we'll go with my version then!
Glad to hear your cards are arriving to their new home.

Cheers!

I wish I could display them at home but there is NO way I will be doing that to many worries they are perfect in my bank vault. If we lived in a utopia world they would always be on display at my place for friends and my family to enjoy.

Default O'Hara

Here's a pretty sweet O'Hara that's on ebay right now. Price seems decent. not my card or connected to it in any way.

To many stains on the front for my taste plus he ONLY ships to the U.S. Thanks for the link I appreciate it!!!

I truly want to buy the nicest one I can find I know of a PSA 3 that is PERFECT but the price is way way to high almost 6000$....I would NEVER pay 6000$ for a PSA 3.

I have to say Leon's friend Tony who sold me the 52 Topps Mantle in PSA 4 was not lying when he said it looks like a 5....when I saw it yesterday it looked perfect and the blue image is so so vibrant and with ZERO stains...I love the card...and would not sell it even for 20 000$.

Tony is a way cool guy and super honest!!! I have to give him 2 thumbs up for sure!!! I will for sure keep him as a person from who I buy my more expensive cards from.

I've been hearing more and more about the shrinking size of metropolitan rental properties. I expect that it will soon be possible to actual live in your safe deposit box. Then you will be able to actually see your cards.

Don't forget to bring a flashlight.

lollllll Actually Canada's economy is pretty good and we only have 35 million people here (and so much land it is crazy) so a lot of room to grow and become a major influence in the world. It will take a long long while but I believe it will happen. We have SO MANY natural resources here it is crazy!!!

The cards you have aren't all that rare. Meaning they could easily be bought again in the next year. You could buy an insurance policy for them and then display them in your home.

Just a thought.

Have you heard about 'APodMents'? Not much bigger than a nice-size bank vault.

With my OCD + anxiety disorder I could not stand the idea of having them at my place. I know they are not rare but I just could not do it!!! Every day when I go out it would be on my mind and I would be wasting energy for no reason instead of just enjoying my day. I am happy with a nice desktop picture....plus a PSA 9 52 Mantle (on my desktop) is nicer so I am happy and if I get tired of it then I can put a T206 Wagner and so on and so on!!!

Take them out of the holders and stick them in bad novels. No thief stops to read. You can take them out, arrange them on the floor, play various games with them, etc. Then just hide them in the books again before you leave.

You're welcome.

I have an old accounting book in the basement if you want that as a decoy book to store your raw cards. Nobody in their right mind would take that book!

There have been times when I was drying a soaked T206, and even though I knew it was somewhere in the bottom book of the pile, it took me quite a while to find it. You could easily wedge tobacco cards in the area toward the binding and they would be very safe - especially in your accounting books. Just keep a record somewhere of what pages each card is stored between.

If you collect slabs, you're screwed.

You are much having fun with your two thumbs up, yes? The honeys will be much impressed by your buying of expensive cards. You are a Wild and Crazy Guy!

I bet you're like the Canadian version of Georg Festrunk. Might be a good Avatar for you....
