Default Sss

I think this was / is 3 brothers, located in MI. I first bought from them via an ad in Sports Collectors Digest maybe 20 years ago. Then when feebay arrived, a few times from their auctions. Never a problem. Goods arrived as described / as pictured. Dunno how active they are anymore, but wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Default Triple SSS

I believe it is owned by mile and Mark Skerbe (twin brothers). They are great guys and are honest as the day is long. They have been around for at least 20 years and are always at the National. You can’t go wrong with them.

There was also a Dennis Skerbe, but he passed away a little over 3 years ago. I think he was the other "S" in Triple S.

Thumbs up as well. I made a few deals. Also theey always had cards that I liked but a few dollars more that I wanted to pay on several of them. However years later I looked back and wish I would of snapped up some of those.

Well apparently ya can...might be that you can only go wrong with them.

Amazing how many people get hoodwinked every day in this hobby. Ya think maybe we need to raise the criteria a smidge before we go off giving recommendations? It just has to be based on more than the seller having a card ya needed, no? Maybe not...

Now to be fair, it's also based on the seller shipping you the very same card you bought within a reasonable time. And if the shipping cost is reasonable, they get elevated to god-like stature.

PS there is a Blowout thread discussing this very seller and it's not particularly flattering.

Speaking generally, this hobby sure has thrown a lot of heroes up the pop charts (continuing my theme from another thread) who just maybe didn't deserve it.

Very shortsighted of collectors who are almost a party to the mess we call a hobby.

Default Thumbs up

Bought a nice PSA 7 '69 Reggie from them in 2017, and finished the deal over the phone. Good service, rapid delivery, and no problems whatsoever.
Price was a fairly significant premium, but to be fair it was a premium card for grade, so not sure where they typically come in on value.

I would have no hesitations buying from them again, and enjoyed the experience.

Yep....they've been around forever. Have seen them at shows for years and years. Haven't bought much because I don't do the PSA high grade stuff that much but I've never heard anything bad about them.

I am not a big player by any means, but i am also done. The only thing i will do now is pop a few wax boxes a year just for my personal satisfaction. Its altered vintage, altered modern, altered everything. Just done.

Maybe Jeff can represent SSS as well?

He could probably make an entire career just from representing card doctors.

The leaps in price of some of those cards is absolutely mind-boggling. Moreso then most of the examples I saw in the PWCC thread.

Crazy.

Add that Maris to the 5k and up list..

Glad i largely stayed away from these guys and no longer regret 'missing' out on a few cards.

Perhaps some lawyers on the board want to say some bad things about them as way to get hired...
