The PSA registry shows Cobb as one of the cards. The advertising poster that REA sold for this set has totally different boxers listed, and no Cobb.

There is a Ty Cobb boxer in the set
as the set was issued in 2 series of 25 cards each.
The REA poster shows the other series.
I'm sure Adam can elaborate more then I about this set.
Not sure what the seller is talking about it being a $3K card

Edited for spelling.

Thanks, guys. I have a few of these, but not a Cobb.

With all the slip tampering and psa mislabeling I just didn't know about this one.

Glad it is legit. I thought the seller to be a genuine guy.

Frank.

Frank yes its legit, I just don't like that $3000 reference in the title
as I'm not sure what he's referring to.

T225-2, tough series, and my screen saver:

love the colors...........

From Boxrec.com (unbelievable site):

boxer: Ty Cobb
division featherweight
nationality United States
alias Young Ty Cobb
residence Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
birth name Samuel Kolb
won 52 (KO 4) + lost 30 (KO 3) + drawn 21
Cobb was another of the many Jewish fighters who came out of Philadelphia in the first half of the 20th century.

... and, yes the Young Fitz fight is cool, but what about this one:

1922-02-07 -- Babe Ruth -- 6 Rounds
Ice Palace, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Newspaper decision from the Philadelphia Public Ledger.

I don't think the headline "Cobb beats Ruth in 6" made many papers !!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

My excel sheet tells me I bought mine for ~$75; which is right --- $99 opening bid should be a stretch ~~~~~~~~~ ?? ~~~~~~~~ but it is a pop 1 !

A tough series of T225 and a tribute name. The name and the Jewish ancestry of the figher are why the card has more popularity than any other common from the set. Since it is a tougher set, if a collector happens to need it they will pay over "book" for it, but $3,000 is fantasy land.
