Default A little help please....what is this and is it worth the $ ?

I happened to go to a local antique store on my day off that I had been wanting to go through for a long time. The only thing I found, besides overpriced, fading cards and autographed balls of "Stars" that were not worth anywhere near what they were asking was this item.

The picture is not the best because it was my phone's camera but the colors on this item are fairly vibrant and the hat had an interlocking "NY" on the front that looked like a Yankee hat. Is this item worth the few bucks they are asking? I have no idea about this item but thought the experts here would chime in and give me an idea or two. Thanks for looking and I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

Default Yankees door stop

What you have there is a cast iron Babe Ruth door stop. They were probably made in the 1950's and are pretty common. They usually sell in the $20-40 range, so your example is priced about right.

Default Babe Ruth Door Stop

This is my find from today's Nashville Flea Market. I wasn't sure whether I had payed the right price or not until I looked for this thread. I paid $25.00, and it looks as if that's about right. I'm tickled to have it...
