Default suspicious 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #053 EX 5

Posted By: Elliot

I know something is up with this listing. Any ideas as to what?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5108855614

I figure that the account has been hijacked, the bogus seller will not pre-approve anybody in the time frame before the listing expires, and then try to make bogus multiple deals with people who responded.

[edited to add title and to reprimand Elliot]

I'd say hijacked accounts. One account has never sold a thing and the other hasn't sold a thing in over a year

Well..we got our answer. No notification of pre-approval, but after the auction ended an offer to sell the cards from our "old friend Toni". Clearly he has hijacked these accounts.

Clearly these cards are too good to be true. I contacted the seller "Tony" that I was interested in the Ruth #144 PSA 6 figuring a can resell the card for at least $3000 my max offer was $1450. He told me send the money to the United Kingdom using Western Union and that a I would receive the card in 2-3 business days. This seems a little edgy to me, I'm backing out. It's great deal for great card, but I,m not going to risk it with this one.

Your money is going to the UK and the card is coming from Overland Park, Kansas. That's funny isn't it.

The 2 hijacked accounts in question (mvp-cards and head2toes) have both been NARU'ed. I reported Toni and his off-line emails to eBay, as I know several other people did. The response I got from Customer Service is below.
