Now sits in an SGC holder (although some think this might be a unique card on the celestial orb, this proves there are at least two:))

Just back from PSA.
I posted this card on a Thorpe thread not too long ago.
I wanted to have it pedigreed as part of the Barry Halper
collection. Both PSA and SGC refused stating there was
not proper provenance to have it pedigreed. Nonetheless,
I decided to finally have it graded. Population reports
indicate two SGC graded Famous/Barr Thorpes and this is
now one of two Famous/Barr Thorpes graded by PSA.

Not all D310's have the Aldon Candy stamp. I have seen SGC handle the Aldon Stamp three different ways (no mention & downgrade due to ink, labeled "stamped back", and labeled "Aldon overprint").

I started a thread on the topic last April which can be found here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/thread/1207949293/Aldon+Candy+Co-

Wow nice Mordecai you got there Jeff.

Also that is a great looking Wagner. Seems like lots of board members picked up some goodies from last night's auction.

I've wanted a Lou Gehrig card ever since I sold off a 1934 Goudey for $30 back in about 1976 (What was I thinking about?). Amazingly, I didn't pay much more than that for this one, which apparently was once part of a 1934 4-in-1 Exhibit ...

Nice pickup on that Coombs last night TBob. My internet decided to get slow the last 10 seconds of that auction or else it would have cost you about another $30.

I'm really excited for what came in today, 3 Awesome HOF Rookies for my collection.First: 1949 A's team issue Nellie Fox, I have been looking and wanting both this issue as well as the 1945 George Kell and to finally have at least one I can't even explain it, so without further adieu......

also these 2 Beauties came in from a Mr. Barry Sloate (Thanks BARRY!!). Minnie is doing a signing at the end of December and I would love to have him sign this card

Best week of 2008 for me: finished my LSAT, saw the Dodgers win their first playoff series in 20 years, and picked up my 100th T206 for my set. Still a long way to go, but a nice milestone nevertheless.

I have been looking for an Obak Bob Brown (Father of Vancouver Baseball) ever since Max W used to use it as his avatar. Finally snagged this one off eBay from David Bryan.
Likewise the E90-1 Rebel Oakes leaping out of the box was a card I have wanted for a while. Thanks to our Tony A. for this little beauty and for the Five Star service.

Another addition to McDonald's McDonalds.

OK, break's over. Now lets get back to politics.
