...because I am cash-poor right now, and I see this Crown Jewel on eBay. Holy moley...

What an absolutely gorgeous card. My mouth is actually watering just looking at that card. I think this is a serious illness.

It's the holiday season, and I'm accepting "alms for the poor" at my office address in Seattle. LOL...

I should be wearing a sign on the sidewalk that says "Starving. Need spare change for vintage cards"

I'm sure you will own the CJ matty sooner or later...maybe not in THAT high grade, but I'm sure you'd settle for a nice mid-grade one with no creases

...I would. I'm just quietly weeping as I look at this work of art.

LOL...here I am depicting a card out of a Cracker Jack box as a work of art... But, IT IS!!

Is it just me or is this another questionable grade by PSA. The centering is off and it sure looks like the bottom edge is not cut straight. Just wondering how many 8's are given for centering like this.

...but it might. Have you ever thought of buying a reprint of the Cracker Jacks set so you can at least LOOK at a copy of the Matty until you get an original? Nice looking reprints are around.

...it's a good thought, actually, I still have scans of the gorgeous CJ that Brain has, which he sent me. I can look at that, or print it out if ever need be.

I'm just not one for giving any business to the reprint market.

I told myself I didn't like the card anyway; he looked like a wooden doll.
And I never replaced it.

But the Cracker Jack Matty is something else again...

but I think the CJ Matty portrait is ugly - he looks like he just came out of make-up for a silent screen roll.
