Default opinions on this ended auction 52 mays

Does anyone have reservations regarding this holder?

To me the left side shows 2 areas where holder may have been tampered with. Seller claimed the card was just re-holdered a week ago.

Default Mays

Not a graded collector myself. It is nice looking card if legit. Looks to be experienced seller but he has about 600 items up now and none appear to be graded.

Pete did you bid on it? You are close enough you could have went and looked at it in person.

Looks to be cracked and resealed but they also come back from SGC looking just like that. That is one of the bad things with their holders. That and the fact if you even breath on them wrong it will scratch the case.

i placed a bid then retracted it after noticing the suspect holder. Id have lost as my ceiling was 2300 anyway. Looks really nice for the grade though!

I didn't notice this auction but the card looks nice and a good price given today's market. I have a couple of SGC cards with similar issues.

I vaguely remember hearing those before but don't remember the details/stories to back them up?

Not that I have paid a lot of attention to his cards, other than the 52 Topps copy, but I have always wondered why this 52 copy doesn't sell for a lot more than what I have seen? (other than 8's and 9'd of course)

Also, speaking of which, I am also curious why DiMaggio and Williams cards don't necessarily garner big bucks when it comes to their cards well?

Both were obviously great ball player but imo, their cards don't reflect that.
