Default High prices lately for 52's. Am I missing something?

Been noticing lately a huge increase in some 52 prices that I haven't seen before.
Some cards are still reasonable, or in the price I am familiar with, but some have me scratching my head lately?

This one just sold. (These are nice cards but I haven't seen prices like this before for raw/ungraded)

I guess you need to be logged in, Ted?

FYI.

Parnell: $162.28
Wilson: $100.00
Hansen: $46.76
Elliot: $77.00
Hogue: $256.00
Maxwell: $201.50

I put bids in on quite a few of these cards, plus many more. I didn't expect to win them all, obviously, but I would have bet I was going to win at least a couple. Needless to say, I was blown away when I woke up and seen what they sold for!

Irv, on all but the first card, it was the same two bidders bidding on items from the same seller in what appears to be a bidding war. However, both sellers have 50% or more of their bids with this seller. FWIW, I have won items from this seller at reasonable amounts, so despite the high pct of bids with this seller, IMO it is a bidding war between the two bidders.

The graded 52s I have won in the past month have all been at reasonable/in-line with previous sale prices.

This appears to be a one off.

They were only 1 and 2 on 3 of the cards but likely had some influence on the bidder of the 4th one so you are likely right, SFMS, but it's still surprising to see what those others went for.

I guess time will tell soon enough if this was an anomaly or not?

Sounds silly but it could be that people are getting back tax returns. Money to burn means I got a little extra jingle in my pocket and this time, I'M winning the card.

This could also just be my inner monologue...
