Default Mike Tyson Boxing Cards

I have been collecting Mike Tyson for the past four years and here are some from my collection.

This is the real rookie which has the Italian back. I have an 8 of the UK back but don't have it scanned.

This foil sticker is only in the UK set.

There are three variations of this one. This is the most common and the only one of the three to ever grade Gem Mint. It is a Pop 5.

This is the more flimsy version that is like the 86 Panini sticker and has Supersport on the back.

This is by far the hardest variation to find and a Pop 1 in a 9.

Here he is crushing Mitch Green.

This is a funny looking card but actually pretty rare.

This is a great shot.

His first certified auto.

This is a sticker from the UK and PSA just recently started grading them.

Yeah, great cards. I'm amazed there are even 10's out there on some of the Panini cards. Everytime I run across them there always seems to be some sort of mysterious bend in them.

What the difference between a hero and a coward ?
In side they are the same but
It's what the hero collects that makes him a hero and
It's what the coward doesn't collect that makes home a coward .

Great cards ! I was just reading up on a few of these a couple months ago

There are quite a few that are labeled Italian that aren't. This is a real one.

These are my best centered 9's.

If you get the SMR be on the lookout for this months edition as there is a lengthy article on Panini boxing stickers.

I just started reading it and recognized another members name in it as well.

Nice to see them get some exposure.

The new PSA SMR will have an extensive article on Panini boxing cards this month. A couple of others in this thread (along with myself) contributed to the article, so it should be a solid read for anyone interested in the genre!

I had a chance to read it last night and it was well done and showcases some awesome boxing stickers.

Admittedly it was nice to see two of my Tyson's in there.

I am having some remodeling done at my condo and took my card cases off the walls recently until we finish. I took this pic of most of my Tyson's the other night. I have one more Italian 8.

A cool pic I thought I would share.

I've got a small card from Argentina that the seller told me was from the 1980s but I haven't been able to find any supporting evidence (other cards from the set, an album, etc). The dotted lines are still present on the edges and it's numbered on the back so I assume there is an album out there, just a matter of finding it. I can't post pics here but I can send you one on CU.

Photobucket ruined so many online threads - those idiots!

Anyways, thank you for putting these lovely pictures up again. I actually own two Panini Tyson rookies myself; one is a PSA 8 and the other has been signed by him, but is ungraded. I have to send it to PSA soon.

Resurrecting this thread to point out the absolute explosion the past few months in Tyson cards.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Panini...53.m1431.l2649

This PSA 8 true Italian rookie is over 3k right now.

I check completed prices on the cards I collect very frequently to try and keep up and some serious sales of late.

Here is the Question of Sport back of head card in a PSA 9 $1,100

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...m=184195103354

This second year Panini with the standard back just sold for $900

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Panini...-/264745610911

Wow this is exciting to see Tyson cards take off.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a Ringlords Tyson without the black lettering in the name on front?

A printing error, but you can compare it to 1982 Topps baseball blackless or the No Name Frank Thomas.

You can't compare it to anything baseball. The boxing market is a flea on an elephant's butt, relative to the baseball market.

Meantime, the Festival of Bric-A-Brac (my collection) recently added these:

I also didn't post this before:

Wild finish on this BGS 8 Tyson. I was watching on my phone and it didn't update fast enough to catch these snipes. When I went to my completed watched listings I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it did. This listing was a sleep until the final few minutes and then launched.

Looks very clean.

The guy with a PSA 9 has an offer on EBAY of $12,000. He text me the pic this morning.

There was a sale from a guy on CU that sold his off EBAY for $7,500.

The PSA 8 signed that was listed a few days back was sold quickly for over 12k

https://www.slabwatch.com/itm/1986-P...kAAOSwdvlfUXmm

I decided to list my Italian PSA 8 to help pay for a Birkin for my wife in the near future and see how strong the market really is. So far there are 80 watchers and 1,183 page views. By far my most active listing ever.

I communicate with the seller who as the 9 listed and he turned down 15k last week. Incredible.

The Tyson I listed set another new high for the grade and I shipped it this morning.

The price with shipping and taxes was $8,287.50. Demand for the card is as strong as it appeared.

This is a great story. This seller I am in contact with had a guy who ran out of offers contact him and say he would pay 18k. Finally this seller caved and lowered it to 18k. Boom like dropping read meat in the ocean someone else bought it instantly and paid.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Panini...8AAOSwFWZfLwyB

Nice to see a BGS 9 sell today for 11k too.

A new record was set last night for the Tyson Panini.

Goldin Auctions just keeps raising the bar on every card they sell.

The BGS 9.5 went for just under 48k.

Yeah Italian version.

On CU the owner of the UK PSA 9 on eBay said they turned down 28k.

PSA copies have sold for more than BGS so hard to know what a 10 would bring. I was very pleased to see this do so well.

I've been watching some Tyson prices as well, I was excited to come across this thread. I have a question for the group - what do you all know about the 1991 Victoria Gallery cards? I've come across several with Red Backs and PSA registry only has 1 Red Back noted. From there, I've seen fewer Blue and Black back out in the wild. Any ideas of scarcity across the 3 color variations of these? Thanks and killer collection!

I will see what I can find out about the backs. There is a sample card which has a white band on the front with sample written on it but I am not too sure on the different coloured printing..

1987 Question of Sport Mike Tyson on fire.

Last month PSA 10 sold for $11,877, and PSA 9 sold for $3100 and $2550.

https://www.psacard.com/auctionprice...values/1815760

I used to buy the complete game for under $40. I always had to explain to the sellers if they mail just the cards then they could ship by Small Packet Airmail.
