Default Diamond cut 1967 Topps high #'s?

I'm slowly winding down my completion of the 1967 Topps set. As I look for the last few cards I need (the ridiculously priced hi #'s) I noticed that a few I've seen seem to be somewhat diamond cut. This doesn't bother that much as I'm just trying to complete the set and find these scarcer hi #'s at reasonable prices (beaters mostly :-) ... but I'm beginning to wonder if the Topps hi #'s were rushed to the printer by Topps in late 1967 ... thus have a higher # of diamond cut cards for the hi #'s vs all the other series cards? Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? I know diamond cuts in pre-war "T" cards are not too uncommon. But I never noticed this type of cut that much in regular issue Topps sets ... except of course off-center and mis-cuts ... which are different cuts than a diamond cut. Just curious.

Jerry, I put that set together a few years back and can't say I noticed diamond cuts on the highs. Might need to go back and look closer though. Regardless, congrats on nearing completion of a great set. That is one where I remember where I acquired almost all of the highs. Quite a challenge and very rewarding to find them.

Thanks for the reply Dan. The 1967 set was pretty much the first set I collected as a kid ... in 1967. After college I took them out of a shoe box and found I had about (50) cards including a few from the series right before the last series. So I decided to try to complete the set. Anyway ... I have been trying to complete that set since 1967 and I'm down to the last (8) hi #'s. As for the diamond cut ... I've seen a few on eBay the past year or so. Perhaps they are reprints or counterfeits? Anyway ... thanks again for the reply ... and encouragement :-)
