The extent of what I know from them comes from this auction. Looks like they were released in panels of four. Very rare and pricey.

Thanks...I would think a 1960s regional collector would be all over that..depending on price. Thanks for the link...

Leon,

Values of the 1964 Meadowgold cards and panels were dropping fast when I last priced them for the Standard Catalog. I believe a complete carton, however, would be a different story.

Surprised that the price would be dropping fast - seemed low before. These are tough to find. Another case where the price doesn't reflect the rarity. Don't have a current catalog, but the '10 issue lists a VG Maz for ~$18 - good luck finding that. Have prices gone down since then?

The 2011 SCD big book has Maz listed at $180 in vg and Mantle at $600 in vg. The lot of 2 in our upcoming auction will start at $100.

Leon, I know you are pre-war at heart but there are boatloads of difficult 50's and 60's sets that a type card collector could chase.

The '10 SCD w/ Maz for $18 and Mantle for $60 must have been an error. But $180 and $600 seem high. There's been a Maz on eBay with a $149 BIN for at least a year or longer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Meadow-...item53f4bae69b I picked up a Maz for around $70 last year.

Dave - don't give Leon any ideas. I have a hard enough time finding regionals - don't need compitition from him...

Leon, I will second Dave's idea of venturing into the 1950s and 1960s. Tons of very tough regional material, hot dog cards, minor league stuff and more.

It wouldn't take much to get you hooked.

Can I borrow some money? I have all my money tied up in tiny pieces of cardboard which are a few years older.
