Default Great story about 2 teammates!

Posted By: Neal

I was born and raised in Boston,Mass and had to pleasure to live across the street of a major leaguer,Elbie Fletcher. I just happened to read this story from a local Boston newspaper today. Pretty cool!

Good stuff Neal. If you want to read more about Mr. Fletcher I think you'd like the book "Baseball: When the Grass was Real" by Donald Honig. Each chapter has a different old time ball player telling of his baseball memories. I think he even mentions the Hearst paper contest that got him his start. If memory serves me he had all his friends and neighbors write to the paper on his behalf.
