I read somewhere that Fleer had test marketed a few cards from their 1961 set in 1948.

You guys are missing some key points.

1. The seller has "perfect" feedback. (OK it's a negative perfect, but perfect nontheless.)

2. The seller is from Texas so he must be OK.

3. He clearly states: "It Has His Statues."

I don't see any risk here.

With Ebay making it free to list items, there are more ridiculuous listings such as this. There is nothing detering anyone from listing all their junk for $60k. No one will buy the junk this person is listing but it further junks up Ebay. It is so much harder and frustrating now to search for decent items at reasonable prices.

Did you read why this gem of a seller has -1 feedback? He sold an item, the buyer paid for it, and he then decided he didn't get enough for it and refused to sell it.

The rest of the sellers items and pricing are pretty good too. Like the Mantle rookie. It's wonderful that it still has the protective overlay! (A 90's Topps finest thing for those of you that don't even look at new stuff)

I can't blame this one on Ebay, the free listing is only for stuff listed for less than $1.

I would like some of whatever the seller has been drinking, It must make things "interesting"

That's a steal if it includes his statues.

What other statue do they mean though?

I only know of this one, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...uth_statue.jpg

and just that one by itself is worth the 60k

you forgot the punch line....the winning bidder won the painting for $5.00. Then the clown re-listed it for $2,500.00

He is selling the "original" Gainsborough awfully cheap, though.

I noticed the Gainsborough too. That is a good price! The only bargain in the lot. Last time I checked, though, the Blue Boy was securely housed at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. Right next to the Pink Lady, I believe.

This guy's "completed" (I use that word loosely) listings over the last 15 days.

I'm sensing that this is a business plan that may not work.

There's a bunch of us that are not too far away, but if we really want this crap to stop we should talk Scott B. into visiting him.
