Al "Red" Schoendienst
I still remember the 1950 All-Star game....in which Al Schoendienst came to bat in the 14th inning and hit a HR to win the game for the National League.
My folks had bought our first TV in July 1950. Just in time to watch this game. I met Al Schoendienst in Cooperstown some years ago, and I recalled that event to him, and we had a nice conversation. A really great guy. GOD Bless your Soul, Al......and, GOD Bless and comfort your Family. TED Z . |
